He spoke particularly about the importance of episode descriptions, as what motivates listeners to try a new podcast. His tips were; use facts and figures, key words, quotes, guest names and a consistent tone which matches the audio - to make a listener really care.
He reminded attendees that the first line is what listeners will see – so that’s the part that needs to be punchy and interesting. He suggested leading with the key point which you think will make people want to listen.
He discussed searchability and the two different forms; in app search, by existing podcast users, and google search, by people who may be newer to podcasting – and certainly new to your podcast.
