PODCAST DAY by Radiodays Europe is pleased to announce BBC Political Correspondent Chris Mason as a speaker on 13th June 2019, London.
Chris Mason was born and brought up in the Yorkshire Dales. He has been a BBC Political Correspondent for the last 7 years and a BBC reporter for 17 years, getting to do every day what he dreamed of doing as a (nerdy) eight year old. He has reported on four general elections, three referendums, two European Parliament elections and one World Santa Claus Congress. This latter assignment, in Denmark, came during a two year stint in Brussels as a Europe Correspondent, where whenever time allowed he escaped the EU institutions to cover stories ranging from football in Kazakhstan to an earthquake in L’Aquila in Italy. Chris started out as a trainee at ITN before joining the BBC in Newcastle as a local radio reporter. Chris also works as a presenter, when the bosses have run out of better ideas. Chris has presented BBC Breakfast; the World Tonight, PM, the World At One and Broadcasting House on Radio 4, plus various programmes on 5 live and the World Service. He is also learning – the hard way – that combining reporting on Brexit with two pre-school aged children is knackering.
