Emma Conneely works across BBC Radio and BBC Audio providing podcast advice and expertise. Based in BBC Sounds she is currently part of the BBC’s project to open the BBC Sounds platform to other podcasters. She has recently authored a report outlining how the BBC can improve its podcast processes and discoverability. Emma also oversees the BBC’s podcast service, delivers training and offers expert support to commissioners and producers. She is particularly interested in the ways that the BBC can optimise its presence in the podcast market as well as supporting the wider industry in the UK. Emma has been at the BBC for nearly ten years, and her previous experience includes podcast commissioning, launch and promotion as well as being involved in discovery, distribution, syndication and partner relationships. In early 2020, she was a trainer at the inaugural Mudawanat workshop in Tunisia run by the British Council to support emerging Arabic-language podcasters.
