Australian Podcast Awards have announced plans for 2020
The Australian Podcast Awards have announced today, 13th January, their plans for 2020 as they continue to reflect the growing Australian podcast sector.
Firstly, the event will be moving from May to a date early in November, with the awards opening for entries at the end of July 2020.
Founder Dave Gertler said about the changes, “As we enter our fourth year, it’s clear that podcasting still has plenty of room to grow - and so we’ll be delivering an even bigger ceremony and want to be even more representative of Australia’s audio makers.” Keep reading...
iHeartMedia celebrates second annual iHeartRadio Podcast Awards: the winners
A few highlights from the Awards included..
● Will Ferrell kicked-off the 2020 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards with a sidesplitting opening - claiming that he created Apple in his garage and reinforcing just how much he loves Burbank, California.
● Stand-up comedian and actor, Sebastian Maniscalco and actress and writer Yeardley Smith, best known for her long-running role as Lisa Simpson on the animated television series “The Simpsons,” presented the Best Comedy Podcast award.
● Conan O’ Brien won Best Comedy Podcast for “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” and had the audience roaring with laughter from his acceptance speech, letting the audience know how happy he is to have finally clawed his way to the top of the radio format.
