Some of the most successful and experienced podcast producers in Europe and America will be speaking at the RDE Podcast Day – the true meeting point for the world of podcasting.
The variety of stories, genres and formats that the speakers at the PODCAST DAY represents is unique and unheard of. The PODCAST DAY is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to get an international overview of podcasting trends, an injection of ideas and learning everything about podcasting strategies and monetization models.
The BBC, launching its Podcasting House this year, is putting its weight behind podcasting in the UK, commissioning new podcasts for the BBC. Ben Chapman, Head of All Digital of the BBC, will talk about the BBC´s podcasting strategy, content and platforms.
From the US, we will hear from the producer of “2 Dope Queens” on how to launch a new comedy podcasts and how to work with talent.
Kaitlin Prest, a performer and producer of “The Heart” podcast on Radiotopia, will talk about her work with her very personal storytelling and reveal her next project, working together with the CBC, Canada, on a new exciting podcasting project.
Some of the most recent data on podcast listening available will be presented by Tom Webster, Edison Research, USA, and Audience Researchers from the BBC, UK.
Speaking of numbers, we will learn about the much talked about podcast currency that the industry has agreed on in Sweden – and several countries will soon follow establishing something similar in their countries.
From Australia we will hear about the ABC´s success “Ladies, we need to talk”, and their first steps from a newborn podcaster to getting the strategy right. From France the former news editors of Slate.fr will talk about establishing their own podcasting company and making success with their first podcast.
More and more commercial radiostations are also using podcasts. We will hear from Qmusic in Belgium and BNR Niewsradio in the Netherlands on their different strategies and how they compliment the radio shows with podcasting.
Now, it´s not only radio broadcasters and independent producers that venture into podcasting. Also completely new players, without experience in audio is now suddenly audio producers. Like the New York Times, the Guardian and – Der Spiegel, the large German print magazine. Why are they doing podcasts and what are their experience?
In the end, to make a success you need to reach a large enough audience and most businesses are seeking to monetize their podcasts. This will be part of many presentations, but podcast and monetizing platforms like Triton Digital, Acast and Omny will be present and share their take on this.
